Sue was Born in Bury, Lancashire and currently lives in Bradley Fold, Bolton with her partner and six cats. She is passionate about animal welfare and volunteer at the RSPCA Rochdale branch.

Sue’s passion is black and white photography; the removal of colour strips away any distractions and simplifies the subject to reveal its core. To quote one of her favourite photographers, Cole Thompson:

For me colour records the image, but black and white captures the feelings that lie beneath the surface

Sue’s photos range from dark, dramatic and moody to minimalist and light. She likes to push her images to the extremes with deep inky blacks and pure whites. She is constantly inspired by water, whether inland (lakes and waterfalls) or more often at the coast. Sue also enjoys urban exploration and industrial photography, she finds beauty in the textures of decay found in abandoned buildings. More recently she has been experimenting with nature photography.

Sue thinks it’s important to develop a personal style and follow your own vision when creating images. Be true to yourself.
