Welcome to the new season at Frodsham & District Photographic Society.

The Committee invites you to renew your subscription for 2018-2019.  As agreed at the last  Annual General Meeting, subscription rates are increased to £50.00 (adult) and £25.00 (under 18) so please bring a cheque or cash. Excellent value at only £1.61 per meeting!

This year we will require each member to check and sign a prepared membership form when you pay your subscription to confirm your details and meet new data protection regulations.

As usual  we will be meeting in Gallery 1 (downstairs) at Castle Park Arts Centre, 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm.

Ian Stanley has worked hard to book a very interesting range of 9 external speakers to entertain and inform us, covering topics from photo-journalism and exotic wild animals to a new look at landscapes and time shift photography. Peter Edwards also has worked hard to book 8 judges who will mark our competition entries, 3 open categories again this season and several more to tempt you. In addition, there will be several evenings led by members including tuition sessions, ‘Five minutes of Fame’, a fun quiz night and much more. The full programme is currently being added to the website, so keep looking and see what else is in store during the coming 8 months.

The rules for competition entries remain the same as at the end of last season, you can read and download them from this page.
The only change for this season is a single group for all entries instead of groups 1 and 2. The committee decided to try this new system for a season and you will be able to comment at the annual review meeting next April.

Projected digital images (PDIs) are to be resized to max 1400 px wide x max 1050 px high for submission and saved in SRGB colour space. Deadline for submission of PDIs will be Sunday 6.00 pm, 8 days before the competition.

As the 1st competition (Open Category) is on September 17th, all PDIs are to be submitted by 6.00pm on Sunday 9th September, and prints are to be submitted at the meeting on 10th September.

We are looking forward to you joining us on 3rd September to start the new season and to enjoy “The Print of the Year” organised for us once more by Miriam Manners.
